What is Marine gas oil?
Marine gas oil is a fuel oil used to power boats, ships and other vessels with diesel engines.
Marine gas oil is the highest class of marine fuel, with the lowest concentration of sulphur and particulate content.
The International Maritime Organisation (IMO) has announced a 0.50% global sulphur cap on marine fuel emissions that will be executed in 2020. Ships must use marine fuels that have a sulphur content of less than 0.50% to reduce the amount of harmful emissions in the atmosphere.
